Beta Launch celebration: Workshops, concerts and performances
Updated about Apr 15
On daytime Saturday, March 16th we had a great printmaking workshop with graphic artist Anita Tjemsland and art educator Hege Hervik. We created beautiful monotypes, serigraphs and linocuts. Later, we started the party evening off with some home cooked food and an artist talk about the concept Artvanz before we continued the celebration with a wide selection of performance, music and sound artists, working in different fields. - Andreas Johan Johansen / AFRAHIS brought his experimental electronics to create soundtracks to imaginary films. - SINDRE BJERGA experimented with collaging sound from found cassettes, dictaphones, contact-mics and repurposed children’s toys. - ELIN KLEPPA MICHALSEN played two selections from Benjamin Britten's Suite No 2 and Suite No 3 for solo viola. - GnOOr - A performance concept by HANS EDWARD HAMMONDS and FREDRIK SELE had its premiere on this evening! Last but not least we had London based ROBERTO EKHOLM presenting selections from "Patient Zero" - an audio-visual performance about how society deals with illness through the use of language. This performance was recently held at MOCA London! Before, in between and after all this, DJ Kjetil Brandsdal and DJ Ullis Tapes were spinning records. On Sunday we held the second Artvanz: lab, a workshop in experimental sound for children and adults with sound artist and musician Sindre Bjerga. We played and improvised with household objects and attached contact microphones to create sounds.
